Unforgettable First Impressions

As an Independent Distributor for It Works Global, you’ve got to master the fine art of making an unforgettable first impression. Whether you’re hosting a Wrap Party, working an expo, or even talking to a random stranger these tips will help you out when meeting with someone for the first time.

1. Always be on time. Or better yet, be polite and arrive a few minutes early! This is always the first step in creating a great first impression.

2. Be yourself! If you’re nervous or anxious, the other person will feel uncomfortable too. Be calm and confident in your demeanor. (You could always take a Confianza for some extra help!)

3. Wear your It Works gear! Dressing the part will help you feel more confident, and the person your meeting with will know you mean business!

4. SMILE! And then smile some more. A warm and confident smile will put you and the other person at ease.

5. Be aware of your body language. Stand tall, smile, make eye contact, and greet the other person with a firm handshake.

6. Take some time to learn a bit about the other person. Ask open ended questions about their hobbies. Find out if you have something in common with them! This is a great way to open the conversation and keep it flowing naturally.

7. Be positive. Maintain a positive, upbeat attitude. The other person will pick up on any negative energy!

It takes just a quick glance, maybe three seconds, for someone to evaluate you when you meet for the first time. In this short time, the other person forms an opinion about you based on your appearance, your body language, your demeanor, your mannerisms, and how you are dressed. Keep these tips in mind for your next business meeting, and you’ll create lasting and meaningful business relationships!
