A few weeks ago, our thoughts turned to New Year’s resolutions. For many of us, one resolution that tends to recur on the list year after year is achieving ideal weight. Why is it so hard for us to maintain the weight that our Creator designed for us as a healthy ideal? The answer’s easy—and it’s rarely the sin of gluttony. The over-processed, industrialized and globalized foods and beverages on all grocery store shelves and in nearly every restaurant boost our appetites, build unhealthy fat and starve us of essential nutrients that our bodies need to maintain healthy metabolism.
So, the first step towards achieving ideal weight is to eat fresh, organic fruits and vegetables, 100% whole grain breads and pasta (make sure the label says “100 %”), and lean white meats. Other good protein sources are legumes and eggs. Don’t forget to pack some healthy snacks—nuts, seeds, low-fat cheese cubes and more fruits and veggies! In short, eat healthy whole foods prepared from scratch.
The second step is to make water your beverage of choice—eight to 10 glasses a day, please.
While these food selections may not excite your taste buds initially, after a week or two, you will find that you will “resurrect” your God-given appetite and actually crave healthy foods. And—you will cringe at the chemical taste of the junk and fast foods you currently crave.
Avoid trans-fats, saturated fats, hydrogenated oils and fractionated oils. These build fat that your body doesn’t know how to process. And, stay away from sugar, especially high fructose corn syrup (HFCS )—a highly processed monster that builds stubborn belly fat. HFCS does not tell our body when you’ve had enough like sugar does so it has an addictive property.
The third step is exercise. Exercise increases the oxygen-carrying capacity of cells throughout your body, boosting your immune system while building your muscle. Muscle is your best friend in weight loss. Try to engage in light exercise after meals to boost your metabolism.
If you need a little help, I recommend It Works!’s Advanced Formula Fat Fighter with Carb Inhibitors. Advanced Formula Fat Fighter is designed to absorb up to a third of the fat in your highest calorie meal. It contains a super absorbent cactus fiber that can absorb up to 19 grams of fat and continues in your GI system as a carbohydrate inhibitor so some of the carbs you eat pass on through your system. Advanced Formula Fat Fighter also has some great nutrients that help ensure healthy pancreas action. The healthy pancreas helps regulate blood sugar and prevent mood swings. Simply take Advanced Formula Fat Fighter 15 to 60 minutes after you eat.
A New Year and a new you await. Eat God-made foods, drink water, exercise and, if you do “blow it” and overeat, look to Advanced Formula Fat Fighter for a little extra help.
