Toast to Life—with Water!

Maintain your health and beauty with the life-giving source no one can live without!

“April showers bring May flowers.” You probably remember that rhyme from childhood, but it’s more than just a cute saying. It’s an example of the spring cycle of renewal that many parts of the earth go through. Just as water brings new life to vegetation each spring, this vital liquid also has the power to renew your body.

Droplets of Water Wisdom

Water is important to your body’s complete health because it is what your body is made of—between 65 and 70 percent of it to be exact. It flushes toxins from your system, helps cushion and lubricate your joints, and keeps your nose and throat moist so you can breathe easily. In short, hydration equals a healthy body.

Stomach rumbling and feeling empty? You may not be craving food at all—just a drink of water. Hunger and thirst signals are controlled in the same part of your brain, so the next time that empty feeling strikes, drink an 8-ounce glass of water. It might take up to 15 minutes for your brain to get the signal that your body wasn’t hungry, just thirsty. If after that time you still feel hungry, then eat. Just think of all the calories you can cut from your diet if you go for water first rather than snacks when you get the munchies!

So just how much water do you need? You’ve probably heard the “8 X 8” rule: drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water every day. According to the Food and Nutrition Board of the National Academy of Science’s Institute of Medicine, this simple reminder doesn’t count all the other ways we can give our bodies a drink! A 2004 study by the board found that adequately hydrated people absorbed large quantities of fluids from a variety of sources—including tea, milk, juice, fruits, vegetables and other foods.*

So as good as water is, you don’t have to drink just water to stay hydrated. Your morning Ultimate ProFIT® smoothie and daily glass of Greens count as well!

Water (and Nutrients) to Go!

Water is already the world’s wonder liquid, but adding Greens to your glass makes water a vitamin-packed “superdrink.” Water plus Greens gives you over eight servings of fruits and veggies along with 38 herbs and nutrient-rich “superfoods” that provide vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, and enzymes. Its alkalizing properties balance your pH levels, helping boost your immune system and support good overall health.

Why restrict all that fortifying goodness to a glass when you can take it anywhere and everywhere? Alkalize, energize, and detoxify wherever you go with Greens on the Go! It’s the Greens you love in a convenient packet you can drop in your purse, store in your desk, or pack in a travel bag. Just pour one pack into your water bottle, shake it up, and drink your healthy nutrients anywhere—at the gym, at the game, or even in the great outdoors. Stay hydrated as you drink your veggies with Greens on the Go!

Great Post.

A lot of people totally underestimate the importance of not only starting out your day with a glass of water or hydrating all day.

I like to have greens in mine to help alkalize properly.

Thanks
