Hi Zippers!
With only two days left to join the Zip it Up challenge, this blog is probably the most important one that I have ever written. If you are on the fence deciding whether to join or not — now is the time; no more hesitation.
Let me tell you about my journey:
The Good: I love the way I feel, by changing the way I eat, adding the right supplements to my diet and engaging in exercise that I enjoy I have begun a lifestyle change that can last me for the rest of my life. As a former college athlete, I thought I knew everything about nutrition and health. But the truth is – I only knew what others had told me, and there was still a lot of information out there that I needed to learn. I love the FITworks meal plan, I love shopping for nutritious food (checking out at the grocery store, knowing I bought the right stuff is actually really fun), I love the way I feel just by cutting fast food out of my life. I love the fact that I no longer have to engage in a full month 2 hours a day of intense exercise just to lose five pounds. In all honesty, I lost 5 lbs my first week of this challenge with minimal low impact exercise, just by taking out some poor choices and adding in some good ones.
*** The best part is: The scale has always gone down, throughout the whole contest I weight myself about once a week and the scale either stays the same or goes down, I haven’t had a point where it increased. I am really happy about this!
The Bad: Some weeks are easier than others; some days I feel really thin and proud of myself. Other days I am so frustrated and feel extremely FAT and want to give up. The best part about this is that the Thin days are starting to happen more and more.
The Ugly: It is so hard for me to show you pictures of myself right now, because I am not where I want to be. For those of you who are hesitant to send me a picture of yourself, don’t worry, I am the only eyes who see them; AND I know how you feel — multiply that intensity because I am posting my pictures on a blog that hundreds of people read. Why do I do this? Because I want to be content with my body, I want to be healthy, I want to live a long active life, and I want to help others do the same!
Picture Time: My beginning picture (warning- it’s not cute)
My current photo J Taken this morning! Yes it’s my original goal dress. I haven’t actually worn it yet because it’s pretty formal and I haven’t been to a cocktail party lately. I have two other dresses that I have also zipped into, and will post pictures on the blog soon. I am still working on getting into the long floral gown. My goal was last week- it didn’t happen, but I’m still working hard at it and as it does fit, I’ll want you to celebrate with me!
Total weight loss to date is 18 pounds. I am really exciting about this, we are just shy of the 3 month mark (contest started April 5th, 2010). If you haven’t joined me in Zipping It Up yet, you only have until Midnight EST of July 1st, 2010 to enter. Remember- Everyone who enters and follows the rules will win $200 in product credit and one person will win a 1,000.00 shopping spree and trip to corporate!
Join me today and start losing with me! I have 42 pounds to go, which is a wonderful number since my original goal was to lose 60 pounds. I am well on my way to reach my goal.
