In this edition of Food for the Soul, I want to focus on relationships. I believe it is definitely God’s best plan for all of us to be in close relationship with others. To be isolated can bring us greater times of discouragement and overall, makes the journey God has mapped out for us less blessed. As seen in the beginning, God knew right away that Adam needed a person in his life to help him, encourage him, and share life with.
One of the key purposes of Dash to the Destination was to tie together cords that bind and can be built only through time, by sharing common goals and purposes, and to support each other through the relationships that are meant to enhance the success of our lives. Here are some key elements of a nurturing and long lasting relationship:
“Availability” We have to make ourselves available to give and receive from others.
“Dependability” Luke 6:31 “Here is a simple rule of thumb; ask yourself what you want people to do for you; then grab the initiative and do it for them!” Instead of being preoccupied with having friends and support, be a friend and a supporter. This is a golden rule for success in building your business, but also for to achieve a full life, overflowing with great meaningful relationships and purpose. We know that the more we give of ourselves (not for the purpose of money, but because we trust God’s ways) will always lead to a better life filled with contentment and purpose.
"Teamwork" Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 “Two are better off than one, because together they can work more effectively. If one of them falls down, the other can help him up. But if someone is alone and falls, it’s just too bad, because there is no one to help him.”
The ups-and-downs in the life of an Independent Distributor are just part of the journey. But, whatever you go through, you can surely find that you are not the first nor will you be the last to experience them. Green Carpet Days, Corporate Calls, Boot Camps, and Blitzing - these are all great ways to tie into a support system as well as a great way you can lend your support to others who need a helping hand. Unity, in a family or a business, has the divine favor of God and is so rare and unique; especially in the current days we live in. It is refreshing to hear positive things going on in your businesses. Sharing in life’s ups and downs has a way of bonding us together and will draw people to you and your business.

Psalm 133:1, 3 (NIV) “How good and pleasant it is when brothers (sisters) live together in unity! For there the Lord bestows His blessings, even life forevermore.”
I really believe if you are a part of It Works’ then God has brought you here. We pray for you and consider you our partners and friends who are building this with us, side by side. I will close with this verse. May you receive it as personally as it is meant to be received:
Proverbs 18:24 (The Message) Friends come and friends go, but a true friend sticks by you.
