TAKE ACTION

I heard of a farmer who lived in a rural community and was well known for his magnificent vegetable gardens.  Visitors came from miles around to view his exquisite crops and he was glad to take them on tours.  One day a minister was standing in the middle of the farmer’s field.  As he looked up to heaven, he proclaimed, “Isn’t God good to give you all this?”  The farmer replied, “Yes, I thank God every day.  In fact, I happen to pray over my crops and ask Him to bless them.  I am very aware of His goodness to me.  But I want to add something.  You should have seen this place when God had it all to himself!  After all, “faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead” (James 2:17).  Success on earth is a partnership.  It comes as a result of faith combined with action.

I wanted to begin with this story to illustrate how we must be people who are taking action.  This year has been a year of the most amazing growth in It Works’ history.  The new tools developed to enable you to go out and grow your business have been amazing.  The Green Carpet Days held at the new corporate office have allowed many to see firsthand who they have partnered with to grow their own success story.  The corporate calls and trainings have given you the wisdom needed to help you grow.  With all of these available to each one of you, it will only help if you are using them and taking action daily.  While we are approaching the 4^th quarter of 2011, it is far from over.  With City Tours coming to eight different areas and Boot Camps on the calendar through the end of the year, there is still much to do.  The $99.00 promotion is again offered to help you bring in the masses of people looking for hope.  So many are out of work and still daily we hear of those losing their homes and fearing for their futures.  I heard this quote: “Those who say it can’t be done are usually interrupted by others doing it!”  I firmly believe you can be the voice to interrupt those who are broken and defeated and lift them up to be introduced to the hope of It Works!    

“Let your enthusiastic idea at the start be equaled by your realistic action now.” 2 Corinthians 8:11

Go back to the story at the top of this page.  Read over it prayerfully and ask God what action He wants you to take today, tomorrow and your future days to come. 

I am so proud of you, our staff, and their families.  This is a year where many have stepped out in faith because we all see God is doing something new and unleashing His favor over It Works!   I stand amazed in the presence of Jesus every morning and am so moved with gratitude for what He is doing in and through all of us.  I firmly believe that each of us is here now “for such a time as this” Esther 4:14

“But what happens when we live God’s way? He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard – things like affection for others, exuberance for life, serenity.  We develop willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people.  We find ourselves involved in loyal commitments, not needing to force our way in life, able to marshal and direct our energies wisely.  Galatians 5:22-23
