It’s a new year! If you’re like many of
us, you may have made a resolution to go on a diet and lose some weight. Here’s
an excerpt from my next new book, 30
Quick Tips for Better Health, where we look to the letters of the word
“DIET” for some keys to achieving weight-loss success.
D is for decisive. To be decisive
means you know exactly what you’re doing. Your body is God’s, so it makes sense
to choose to put Him in charge. After all, He’s the one who wrote your Owner’s
Manual, the Bible.
I
is for inspiration. Get your inspiration from God’s Word. It’s
best to schedule a time each day to read the Bible. Ask the Holy Spirit for
wisdom and direction—just a simple prayer will do—and then expect an answer.
E is for eating
and exercise. These are the
two most important factors in determining your weight, and your weight is very
closely related to overall health. Romans 12:1 tells us to present our bodies
before God, which God counts as spiritual worship. Did you ever consider that
you’re worshipping God with the food you put on your plate? And how about going
for a brisk walk? God counts that as worship too. Choose God-made foods as much
as possible, and aim for thirty minutes of fast-paced walking three to five
times a week. Not only will you reach your ideal weight, you’ll feel much
better.
T is for thinking—God’s way of
thinking, that is. Think of yourself as a brand new creation. Let old things
and habits pass away.
A great
way to kickstart your new “DIET” is by keeping a supply of Ultimate ProFIT® Advanced Superfood Nutrition on hand. Whether your goal is weight
loss, athletic performance, or a simple way to eat healthy, it offers a
superior blend of proteins, mood-elevating “superfoods,” and fiber—in chocolate
and vanilla flavors. Use it in shakes or smoothies, bake with it, or even mix
it with your food. It’s natural, whole-food ingredients with only 100 calories
per serving. It helps you to build lean muscle mass with fewer calories, maintain
healthy cholesterol levels, promote healthy digestion, and get feel-good,
mood-elevating energy.
DIET
doesn’t have to be a four-letter word; make it a four-step plan for achieving your
resolutions to get healthy and happy in 2013!
